Shape and size effect of nanoparticles in their interaction with plasma proteins by microfluidic devices
How does the identity of a nanoparticle change if I inject it into the bloodstream? Is it still the synthesized nanoparticle? Several scientists have developed this big question in the last ten years because nanomedicine has a significant limitation when in vitro experiments are compared with in vivo. Microfluidic (MF) is a pioneering technique that allows analyzing and studying hydrodynamic regimes. Furthermore, it can emulate a natural environment to explore the nanoparticle-protein interaction by simulating a protein corona formation in the bloodstream. Therefore, for this reason, it is vital to consider the potential information that these experiments could provide to mimic the natural conditions that nanoparticles could face in the bloodstream.
